Mr. Ed Kalinowski is currently our Dean of Students for the remainder of
this school year.
A word from
Mr. Howard...
As we approach the upcoming Thanksgiving break, I wonder what it is I am thankful for.
I would suppose that the more I think about it, the longer the list will become. After spending a few minutes with Mrs.
Dwello, Mr. Wallaert and Mr. Richards one early morning, the haze cleared and my list is now apparent.
Faith
and Family top my list. I am a pretty lucky person to have my family who believe in me and are there at a moments notice
if needed.
Work! I have always liked, no, loved the work that I do. The decision to teach and coach some
45 years ago has remained rewarding. I am thankful for all of those young kids and young adults I have known over the
years.
The school board for this school district is thoughtful and approaches issues with care and concern.
They have a remarkable job to do, one that has been entrusted to them by the community. It is often a thankless job.
They set policies and interpret budgets. It is a volunteer job and one that takes many hours each month. Thank
you members of the board!
Today, I am especially thankful for the teaching and support staff at Meadows Valley.
When it is a bit gray in the building, they brighten it up. When the water glass is empty, they fill it up. When
someone is in need, they come forward. Veteran staff members, rich in experience and new staff full of energy and bounce
have much to share with our young folk. They are here for the students and take their jobs seriously. As the adults
in the building, they must present good behavior at all times setting a good example for the students. They are the
leaders in the efforts to teach young minds.
Your list is different. Yours is yours. I will take a
minute, take a deep breath, ponder for a minute and tell those people I am thankful for them.
Thank you everyone
for all that you do.
Mike Howard
