Mr. Berg

Hello – I’m Patrick Berg the Principal and Curriculum Director for the Meadows Valley K-12 school.  I am super excited to begin my second year as Principal of the Meadows Valley K-12 School.  I’ve been in education for 16 yrs, this is my 2nd year at Meadows Valley.  Prior to coming to Meadows Valley I worked in the Nampa School District for 14 yrs.  I was a Vice Principal, Dean of Students, Athletic Director, PE/Health teacher, and a coach.  During my time in Nampa I worked at Nampa High School, West Middle School, Greenhurst Elementary School, Lone Star Middle School and Ridgeline High School.  During my free time I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family.  My hobbies include being active, skiing, running, hiking, being on water, and camping in my Glamper.  I really enjoy working with the students, families, community and staff in New Meadows.  Favorite quote:  “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift” ~ Steve Prefontaine

Dr. Schon’s Class

I’m Jenny Schon, a new teacher to Meadows Valley teaching some science, yearbook, exploratory and K-5 extension classes. Although new to Meadows Valley, I’ve been in the area since 2010 working for the McCall Outdoor Science School as the Program Coordinator: helping to train and teach graduate students teaching outdoor science to K-12 students. Prior to that I taught middle school science in Montana. And even prior to that, I worked as a Fire Ecologist for the National Park Service in the Southwest. I love playing outdoors – hiking, running, skiing, swimming, mountain biking and exploring the world through my one year-old’s eyes! On my journey through my careers I’ve spent time in and out of many countries and working through several educational degrees, culminating with my PhD in Education.

My favorite quote: “Be the change you wish to see.” Gandhi

Mrs. Warner’s Class

My name is Sarah Warner, and I am a second grade teacher at Meadows Valley School.

This year marks my 15th year of teaching Primary students. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education, and spent the first five years of my teaching career in the field of Special Education. In my free time I enjoy running, biking, hiking, snowboarding and gardening.

I love being a teacher because it is so much more that just helping students learn. For me, teaching is all about the connection that I form with my students and building trusting relationships.

Mrs. Philpott’s Class

Welcome to fifth grade Meadows Valley students and parents!  I am your new fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Maret Philpott.  I attended Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  My family and I recently moved from northwestern Montana where I had been teaching fourth grade for the past ten years.  My son started school this fall at the University of Idaho–go Vandals!

I am very passionate about teaching and love reading and studying, especially local history and science.  I am also excited to be living and working in this community because we love the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and hunting.
