About the Teacher…
I have lived in New Meadows all my life. I am a fifth generation resident. I have been teaching first grade for twelve years and am now teaching a first/second grade combo class and love it! I attended Meadows Valley from K-12 and am starting my 28th year working in the district. In September of 2015 I earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. I received my teaching degree from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. I am married to a wonderful man named Randy and we have been married for 27 years. We have three wonderful children. LeAndra graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with a degree in Criminal Justice. She is working as a Fish Culturist at Clearwater Fish Hatchery. Randi Leigh graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with a degree in Sport Administration and Business with presidential honors. She is working as a representative at College of Western Idaho. Cody is a junior at University of Idaho working on a degree in Wildlife/Fisheries Resources. There is no other place I would rather be working. I love it here at school and in Meadows Valley. Life is spectacular!
What’s happening in Class?
Welcome to February 2018! This month is a short and busy one! We will be learning about space and doing activities to prepare us to go in to the Starlab to learn about planets and constellations. We will continue working on reading fluency and comprehension. Students are really improving from the beginning of the year. I am so proud of them!! Have a fabulous February!!!
Love, Mrs. Smith
