Joyce Roberts is the food service director for Meadows Valley School. She began her career at Meadows Valley as a substitute
teacher for five years. Next she was hired as the assistant cook. Joyce is now starting her ninth year as head cook for Meadows
Valley School. Joyce is a Meadows Valley graduate. Her family moved to New Meadows when she was a sophomore. Her husband was
a New Meadows graduate too. They lived in Boise and moved back to New Meadows in 1993. Joyce is assisted in the kitchen by
Julie Lancaster who Joyce describes as bringing much comic relief to the meal preparation process.
Joyce has had
many opportunities to do other things but, she finds the love and support at the school, keeps bringing her back year after
year. Joyce says her favorite thing about Meadows Valley is the “awesome” kids and explains that being around
them puts a smile on her face and she looks forward to cooking for them each day.
