Meadows Valley Mountaineer Girls Basketball
Extracurricular activities such as basketball are not a diversion but rather an extension of a good educational program. Meadows Valley students who participate in activity programs tend to have higher grade-point averages, better attendance records, and fewer discipline problems than students generally. Meadows Valley basketball programs provide valuable lessons for practical situations - teamwork, sportsmanship, winning and losing, and hard work.

While involved in Meadows Valley basketball, students learn self-discipline, build self confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations – the very same qualities observed in responsible adults and productive citizens.

The coaches and players invite you to come to the games and cheer them on as they represent the Meadows Valley Mountaineers on the basketball court this season!

A Word from Coach Campbell about Girls’ Basketball…

If goals are not made, they can’t be achieved.

Your Lady Mountaineer Varsity Basketball team has set a goal to be in the State Tournament this year.  The team has great leadership, size, speed and quickness, but most of all “BIG” hearts that just keep on giving.  The team is made up of five seniors including: Sierra Atnip, Casey Salas, LeAndra Smith, Anna Cunnington and Kelcey Clark. Rounding out the team are: Junior-Alyssa Brown, Sophomores-Jamie McLeod, Randi Smith and Ashley Flaming, with Saige McDonald, a Freshman, completing the ten member line-up. Students and fans, your team should be very entertaining, with a fast pace, up-beat, run and gun style of play.

It’s great to have a full, eight-member Junior Varsity team.  To gain experience and playing time, Kelcey and Ashley will play on both teams.  Sophomore Dixie Carpenter and Freshmen- Rebecca Baird, Abbie Crogh, Baylee More, Sarah Price and Haley Robertson complete the Junior Varsity team.

The J.V. team is showing they can take the heat the Varsity player’s dish out in practice each night.  With the older girls assistance and pressure, the younger players will develop into great players much quicker.

The teams are excited to play.  Their super attitudes and positive responses to the program are very much appreciated.  Thank you for your support. We look forward to a very successful basketball season.
