Meadows Valley Mountaineer
Girls Basketball 2010-11
Extracurricular activities such as basketball are
not a diversion but rather an extension of a good educational program. Meadows Valley students who participate in activity
programs tend to have higher grade-point averages, better attendance records, and fewer discipline problems than students
generally. Meadows Valley basketball programs provide valuable lessons for practical situations - teamwork,
sportsmanship, winning and losing, and hard work.
While involved in Meadows Valley
basketball, students learn self-discipline, build self confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations –
the very same qualities observed in responsible adults and productive citizens.
The coaches and players invite you to come to the games and cheer them on as they represent
the Meadows Valley Mountaineers on the basketball court this season!

Thank you for the opportunity to coach each and
every one of your daughters. I’m looking forward to a great season and I know that with all the hard work we are putting
in it will be great.I expect 110% at all times and with a positive attitude. Our main focus will be to
play as a team and to help one another become better with positive reinforcement.Respect, hard work,
loyalty and sportsmanship will be a core catalyst that the Lady Mountaineer Basketball program will be based on.
I will reinforce fundamentals, fundamentals, and more fundamentals! If we have the fundamentals, we will
be a very tough team to beat. Team is the first and foremost product the girls need to envision.I am a
very fundamentally sound coach that loves to have fun and teach these girls to strive to be the best they can be. The effort
and commitment they assert into basketball will carry with them in life.
I have six years of prior coaching experience in Montana. My first four years were spent in Whitehall, Montana as the
J.V. and C squad coach. The head coach and I started at the same time with a program that had not won a home game in six years.
We won one game that year and yes it was a home game. Within four years we were playing in the state championship. With that
success I decided to take on the challenge of being a head coach. I was fortunate to do that in White Sulphur Springs, Montana
for two years. The lady hornets had combined for four wins in the three previous seasons. We qualified for divisional both
years and had some memorable games. I took a team that was the cellar dwellers to being a threat in the conference as stated
by a fellow coach in the conference. The memories are great and I am looking forward to enjoying a whole lot more at Meadows
Valley.
Thank you again and I hope to meet everyone at our games. Please come
out and support the lady mountaineers as we enter another season. I encourage everyone to feel free to call or email with
any question or concerns. You can reach me by email at bjohnson@mvsd11.org or by telephone at school 347-2411.
