About the Teacher…

I have lived in New Meadows all my life.  I am a fifth generation resident.  I have been teaching first grade for twelve years and am now teaching a first/second grade combo class and love it!  I attended Meadows Valley from K-12 and am starting my 29th year working in the district.  In September of 2015 I earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading.  I received my teaching degree from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.  I am married to a wonderful man named Randy and we have been married for 28 years.  We have three wonderful children.  LeAndra graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with a degree in Criminal Justice.  She is working as a Fish Culturist at Hagerman State Fish Hatchery.  Randi Leigh graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with a degree in Sport Administration and Business with presidential honors.   She is working as a Dual Credit Coordinator at College of Western Idaho.   Cody is a senior at University of Idaho working on a degree in Wildlife/Fisheries Resources.  There is no other place I would rather be working.  I love it here at school and in Meadows Valley.  Life is spectacular!

What’s happening in Class?

November 2018:

Welcome to November 2018!   This will be a quick month to work in learning.  We will be doing Thanksgiving activities and learning about Nutrition.  The Food Guide Pyramid and sections of the pyramid will be a focus this month.  Students will learn portions and servings so they can help out at home for meals.  We have the whole week of Thanksgiving off this year.  I sure hope you all get to spend some quality time with your families.  I know I will!!  Thanks for all you do and have a novel November!!

Love, Mrs. Smith
