Meadows Valley Mountaineer Volleyball
Extracurricular activities such as volleyball are not a diversion but rather an extension of a good educational program. Meadows Valley students who participate in activity programs tend to have higher grade-point averages, better attendance records, and fewer discipline problems than students generally. The Meadows Valley volleyball program provides valuable lessons for practical situations - teamwork, sportsmanship, winning and losing, and hard work.

While involved in the Meadows Valley sports programs, students learn self-discipline, build self confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations – the very same qualities observed in responsible adults and productive citizens.

The coaches and players invite you to come to the games and cheer them on as they represent the Meadows Valley Mountaineers on the volleyball court this season!

A Word from Meadows Valley Volleyball Coaches Scott & Cindy Rawlings
Scott Rawlings has been coaching volleyball for twenty-eight years. Cindy Rawlings has been the assistant volleyball coach at Meadows Valley for three years. Coach Scott Rawlings played competitive team and two-man volleyball in Pennsylvania and Wyoming. He played recreational volleyball when he moved to McCall in 1989. Coach Cindy Rawlings worked the officials table and was the team statistician for over twenty-five years.

Volleyball coaches Scott and Cindy Rawlings believe the 2009 Meadows Valley volleyball team will be very competitive this season. Eight varsity level players attended a CSI team camp in Weiser this summer and they did very well. A couple of younger players attended a camp in Riggins so this summer experience should help. The team is eager to do well and willing to work hard to be stronger. The key will be whether they can develop an aggressive mindset from day one and carry it all season long. We want them to work together in competitive situations without constant reminders to do so. We want them to enjoy really getting after it and going head-to-head with each other in practice on a daily basis. If we do this then competing with other teams should be easier.

Coach Scott and Cindy Rawlings want the players to know that they need to bring their very best - everyday, every match. Parents and fans…what can you expect this season? Fast paced, competitive, and at times grueling matches so come out to the games and cheer your Meadows Valley volleyball teams to victory!

A Word from Coach Riener…

What can you expect from this years junior high volleyball team? This year’s team will be younger with the loss of eight, eighth graders, but I have high hopes for this young team of volleyball players. They have a strong work ethic; they work together very well and support each other on and off the court. I predict that this year’s season will be a success and I encourage all 6th-8th grade girls to join the team.

I encourage the fans to come out and cheer on the girls as they represent the Meadows Valley Junior High Volleyball team. We have eight games scheduled. Plan on attending!
