Meadows Valley School is pleased to continue our participation in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) administered by the Idaho State Department of Education.
This federally funded program is designed to provide students with regular access to fresh fruits and vegetables during the school day while promoting lifelong healthy eating habits.
What This Means for Our Students
Through this program, students will:
Receive free fresh fruit and vegetable snacks several times each week
Be introduced to a variety of new and seasonal produce
Participate in nutrition education connected to healthy food choices
The program is offered during the school day, outside of regular meal times, to encourage healthy snacking and expand students’ exposure to nutritious foods.
Supporting Healthy Habits
The FFVP is more than just a snack program. It is an opportunity to:
Build awareness of healthy eating
Encourage students to try new foods
Reinforce positive habits that support learning and well-being
Our staff will also incorporate nutrition education and discussions alongside the program to help students understand the value of making healthy choices.
Commitment to Our Community
Meadows Valley School is committed to supporting the whole child. Programs like FFVP help ensure that students are well-nourished, ready to learn, and developing habits that will benefit them long into the future.
We appreciate the continued support of our families and community as we implement this program.
